Running GlaNtp

Introduction

Since in July 2012 we moved from the old home areas to the /afs home areas and we need to kinit to the get a new kerberos every day, here are some tricks to make the public webpage visible.

Trick

On your desktop machine open a new terminal and in your home area make a folder called public_html

mkdir public_html

And run this command to make it visible to the world

fs setacl public_html system:anyuser rl

Then put your files into the folder

emacs -nw public_html/index.html

Then check the page in your web browser

http://ppewww.physics.gla.ac.uk/~abuzatu/

Careful, this page is public, and can be seen by anyone on the internet!
