How many muons should the muon detectors see ?
2000 events b=0
- I have counted the muons (with status=1) in the right pt and rapidity range for the DT and CSC.
- DT
- pt>4GeV/c && |eta|<1.2
- number of muons seen by the DT: 50 muons
- CSC
- pt>3GeV/c && -2.4<eta<-0.8 && 0.8<eta<2.4
- number of muons seen by the CSC: 100 muons
When embedding quarkonia into hydjet, the decayed muons have a pt spectra peaked almost at 2GeV/c, and droping less fast that those from the hydjet events. This is why one sees more muons in the muons detectors with those samples.

With right cut: cutting on p instead of pt:
- p>4Gev/c && |eta|<1.2: number of muons seen by the DT 110 muons
- number of muons that have p>5 GeV/c, and therefore can be reconstructed as STA muons in the DT = 55
- p>3GeV/c && -2.4<eta<-0.8 && 0.8<eta<2.4 : number of muons seen by the CSC 1012 muons
