Name of the exercise

Sensor Callibration and Touch Sensitive Numeric Pad Design

Responsible for the exercise

Ozgur Cobanoglu

Description of the exercise

Students will callibrate resistance read-out ports with known resistors and measure an unknown resistor. They will also design a 3x3 touch sensitive numerical pad, map 4 resistance ports onto it and develop the algorithm to read the map.

What will the students learn

  • High-level access to an electronic board
  • Basics of callibrating a sensor/detector
  • Practical mapping issues, mapping a number of sensors for different purposes

Duration

2 hours.

List of material

  • 1 computer with pico board driver and scratch installed (linux or windoz or mac)
  • 1 pico board, connectors, and simple numeric pads prepared by the responsible person

Relevant information

  • The lab is accompanied by a relevant set of homework.
  • Related lectures (typically the exercises will take place after the related lectures)
  • The manuals of the device and S/W package used in the exercise
  • An installation guide. This document is for the supervisor of the exercise. It has to describe in detail how the material has to be set up before the exercise can start (Cabling, S/W installation, etc.)
  • An instruction sheet. This document is for the students and tells them what they have to do

Solution

  • At least one of possible solutions will be provided.
