Present: G. Favre, T. Tardy, A. Dallocchio, I. Sexton, S. Ramberger,
1. Metrology (IS)
In the absence of a metrology representative, Ian gave a resume of the situation. All the pieces currently delivered from DMP have been tested. Stem’s numbers 014 and 015 were sent back to DMP due to NC issue (sealing face damage). All the other stem’s have been placed in a lathe and with scotch brite the sealing faces were polished (JM Giguet). Stem number 017 was re-machined due to a shock during handling; the stem has been re-measured and is within tolerance.
Regarding the stem, Alessandro asked whether the coaxial measurements were performed (2 holes at each end), this measurement has been performed both by DMP and CERN (20µm difference in values). This value is not significant in particular as their will be subsequent machining.
After completion of the first EB welding and mechanical machining procedures, the part will be verified by metrology to check the mechanical tooling; once the go ahead has been given the other parts can be welded and machined.
2. Cleaning (IS)
All the pieces have been cleaned apart from 8 pre-series components. These components have already been dimensionally checked, 2 stems, 2 copper inserts, 2 stainless inserts and 2 bodies. A request has been made to clean the 2 copper bodies first.
3. Tooling for STEM (cleaning) (SR)
The specific tooling has been passed on to the cleaning section allowing the cleaning process to continue.
4. Non conformities (STEM’s Suitbert)
Stem’s #014 and #015 were sent back to DMP, problem with the sealing face. They have changed the machining method to avoid and future problems.
5. Planning - DMP (SR)
A new delivery has arrived and delivered to the workshop (22/08/2011), this will be processed and sent to cleaning first and then metrology (personnel/holidays). The next delivery is foreseen at the end of September.
6. Planning - EBW production (IS + TT)
The welding will start next week (week 36). The first operations will be carried out and checked after each procedure referring to the EDMS document 1010055.
7.
SharePoint (AD)
It was decided to use
SharePoint as the main software for the workshop manufacturing process. Others will be using in parallel different software e.g. TWiki, but
SharePoint will be the reference for future consultations. Alessandro will show Ian next week the basics of
SharePoint as the partial structure has already been created.
