Development of inductance pick ups

Intial Prototype

The Idea is to use an inductance detector to sense disturbences in the local magnetic field caused by the motion of the pendulum weights, and measure their period from this data. This week I have tested a protoype .5H scramble wound inductance sensor with a non-magnectic core (pictured below). This sensor falled to produce a signal, after consultation our next model will be higher inductance and include a magnectic core.
