Hi there,
Welcome to my Twiki page!
This is a seminar I presented last week in the ESS (European Spallation Source), Sweden. It is a 45 min talk on the work I've been doing as a fellow at CERN since August 2010.

OSTs (Oscillating Superleak Transducers) and Temperature Mapping Diagnostics for High Gradient 704 MHz Cavities
Kitty Liao (CERN)
Cavity performance can be limited by a transition from superconducting to normal conducting state due to heating of a local hot spot, called quenching. Therefore systems used to locate quench area(s) are essential for achieving higher gradients. Nowadays mainstream cavity diagnostics include temperature mapping and second sound triangulation using oscillating superleak transducers (OSTs) in superfluid helium. This presentation offers an overview of cavity diagnostics and the latest development on these two systems at CERN.
