can go there via ssh tunnel using SOCKS proxy.

ssh -D 12345

and leave that ssh session open for all time you want to talk to the server

then manually set proxy configuration of your browser in such a way the SOCKS proxy point to localhost:12345 (see the picture below for an example with Firefox, try both SOCKSv4 or SOCKSv5).

At this point you should be able to see the page since your browser will pass by lxplus for every page.
