Measurement of the cross section for open-beauty production at LHC with CMS.

The CMS collaboration measurement of the cross section for inclusive b production in proton-proton collisions at sqrt(s)= n TeV is presented. A sample of events containing jets and at least one muon is selected for the study. The transverse momentum of the muon with respect to the closest jet axis discriminates b events from the background. We present the inclusive b production cross section as a function of B-hadron transverse momentum and pseudorapidity as well as a function of muon transverse momentum and pseudorapidity. The data are compared with QCD Monte Carlo predictions at LO and NLO accuracy.
