SLHC L1 Trigger Simulated Samples

This page will give a list of samples generated for SLHC trigger simulation studies, the location of the data, and the config used to produce them. For now, details of small test samples are given. Please provide feedback to Dave Newbold.

Introduction

All samples use CMSSW_2_2_6 as the base software version.

For now, all samples are published in a local DBS instance only. To access them, you will need to use in your crab.cfg:

[CMSSW]
datasetpath=<primarydataset>/<publish_data_name>/USER
dbs_url = https://cmsdbsprod.cern.ch:8443/cms_dbs_prod_local_09_writer/servlet/DBSServlet

See SWGuideCrabForPublication for details.

Fastsim samples

Fastsim samples are being produced with three classes of particle gun signal, five pileup levels (0, 25, 50, 100, 200 average events) and two tracker geometries. All samples so far have tracker and calo digis and trig prims.

Signal events are produced with the following configurations.

Back-to-back e+/e- with flat pt spectrum from 0 to 35GeV/c:

process.load("FastSimulation/Configuration/DiElectrons_cfi")
process.source.PGunParameters.MinPt=0.0
process.source.PGunParameters.MaxPt=35.0

Back-to-back mu+/mu- with flat pt spectrum from 0 to 35GeV/c:

process.load("FastSimulation/Configuration/DiElectrons_cfi")
process.source.PGunParameters.MinPt=0.0
process.source.PGunParameters.MaxPt=35.0
process.source.PGunParameters.PartID=cms.untracked.vint32(13)

Pythia dijets with flat pt spectrum from 10 to 100GeV/c:

process.load("FastSimulation/Configuration/DiJets_cfi")
process.source.Ptmin=10.0
process.source.Ptmax=100.0
process.source.Etamin=-2.5
process.source.Etamax=2.5

Fastsim long barrel geometry test samples

Status: first samples available, more running

The CVS patches applied to base CMSSW_2_2_6 are listed here.

To check the current list of samples, and the config files used to produce them, you can use DBS.
