The Muon Desk Setup
- You have 4 screens at your disposal and on each 4 virtual Desktops.
- Please close regularly (in particular at the end of the shift) unused windows and programs.
- Most application needed for your shift work are started from the menu bar (see figure)

Default Applications
You should have always open and visible the following applications:
- MUON DCS FSM and DCS Alarm Screen
(Start from MUON -> DCS menu, filter for alarm screen: Default)
- TDAQ IGUI to monitor Atlas partition
(Start from TDAQ menu -> DAQ panel, see shift manual for settings, filter for MRS messages: CSC|RPC|MDT|*TGC*)
- RPC Trigger Rate and DAQ Monitor as DCS panel
(Start from MUON DCS FSM -> RPC -> INFRASTRUCTURE -> RPC LVL1 -> RPC LVL1 DDC)
- TGC FE Monitor
(Start from Muon DQ/Monitoring menu)
- TGC Status Monitor
(Load as insert to the TDAQ GUI via TDAQ menu -> DAQ panel -> Monitor partition, once IGUI is open load panels drop down menu -> TGC_integrated Panel)
Recommended Screen Layout
- Use desk ‘Mu Shifter’ for applications you actively work with
- On desk ‘Mu Experts’ have open on Desktop1 additional panels you need to watch to spot problems but not operate on
- Desk ‘Experts’ should be left free and not used by muon shifters.
