T0 Data Operations Expert Checklist

This twiki contains essential procedures that a T0 operator should perform regurlarly.

Note: There are already many scripts for the tasks mentioned here, it is recommendable that you read them before use. Any improvement is welcomed and encouraged, but don't spend 50% of your time for a 1% performance improvement.

Cleanup tasks

There are 2 directories we use a lot (or the automated tasks we monitor at least) and free space might get critically low from time to time.

• /afs/cern.ch/user/c/cmsprod: This is the home directory for the cmsprod account, if you usually put logs, scripts or other files in there, please remember to clean up file that are no longer needed. And if you need to cleanup because the quota is near 90%, remember to ask your colleagues what they may need.
  • For cleaning usually logs are the best candidates to wipe first.

  • To find out the current usage quota, go to the directory and type "fs quota".
