YASTMM
A sandbox is a nice place. You can write all kinds of nonsense which nobody pays any attention to. On the other hand, whatever effort is expended in so doing is largely wasted. Does it really make a difference if one writes in
bold or in
italic?:
- Indeed it does change the type face.
- It can do little to enhance the meaning.
- It can be useful as a means of attracting the reader's attention
I have no idea what
monospacing does, but I will soon know.

What about standard html tags, such as ol. Is the following an ordered list?

You will not have failed to notice that it is.
Conclusion
The system is nice and reasonably easy to use. Whether or not it is useful depends, as for any other documentation system, on the content -- whether it is readable, intelligible, and enlightening. The content of this particular page is not at all useful, but the act of creating it was itself a useful learning experience for the author.
