Shift Information and Details

  • At the start of each shift the following procedures should be completed:
    • Talk with the previous shifter about the status of the shashlik currently.
    • Ensure that the HV is working for the PADE cards.
    • Ensure that the PC and DAQ are functioning properly.
    • Check the hodoscope(wire chamber).
    • Check the environmental box temperature.
    • Note the bias and gain settings...
  • During each run:
    • Fill out a new shifter response form
    • Check the position of the table.
    • Watch the number of events being taken for each spill...
    • If multiple shifters are present, check the quality of previous runs.

  • Both reco and hodoscope files can be found on lxplus:

First steps to get setup to access data:

Analysis projects

  • Merge beam and hodoscope data
    • Checks on merged data to ensure event matching.

  • Position Resolution
    • Each position of the beam, scan the postion resolution and likely see from which regions the tails come from
    • Ideally we'd get a map of position resolution with areas of a few (5x5mm) to show difference between cracks
    • To Do: For the W scan, change the parameter, then maybe start looking for an MVA to train. *Optimizing the W, scan across the position, do the same as in Y.

  • Energy Resolution *Normalizing same geographical locations in all cells *With/Without fiber calibrations
      • Uniform impact, plotting energy response against small bins in x
    • Energy calibration with response to fibers.
