tZq 2015 Analysis

Currently Working On

  • Experimenting with BDT variables
  • Including all SFs - ones that are now done:
    • Pt-dependent lepton SF.
    • Jet smearing
    • Trigger
  • Generalising to other three channels trivial, but takes time to run.

22Jan2013 re-reco, full 2012 dataset. (Using tW paper samples until crab jobs are finished)

Event Selections

A very preliminary set of event selections:

Tight Electrons
-pt >= 20
-|eta| <= 2.5
-dZ (BeamSpotCorrectedTrackD0) <= 0.04
-MissingInnerLayers <= 1
-passes photon conversion veto
-MVA ID >= 0.5
-RelIso(rho corrected) <= 0.15

Loose Electrons
-pt >= 10
-|eta| <= 2.5
-MVA id >=0.5
-RelIso(rho) <= 0.15

Tight Muons
-Global AND tracker muon
-pt >= 20
-|eta| <= 2.5
-RelIso(dBeta) <= 0.2

Loose Muons
-Global AND tracker muon
-pt >= 10
-|eta| <= 2.5
-RelIso(dBeta) <= 0.2

Once three leptons are selected, two (oppositely charged) are required to have mll within the z-mass window (81 <= mll <= 101 GeV).

Then two tight jets are required:

Tight jets
-pt >= 30 GeV
-|eta| <= 4.9
-NConstituents >= 2
-passes jetID, i.e.: NeutralHadronEnergyFractionCorr < 0.99, NeutralEmEnergyFractionCorr < 0.99
and (ChargedEmEnergyFraction < 0.99 and ChargedHadronEnergyFraction < 0.99 and ChargedMultiplicity > 0.) if |eta| < 2.4

Exactly one of these jets must be b-tagged using the CSV medium working point (i.e. BDiscriminant >= 0.679).
