E/gamma pixel matching windows

The electron pixel matching windows are defined by the variables:
  • ePhi1: searching window in phi for the first hit in the electron hypothesis
  • pPhi1: searching window in phi for the first hit in the positron hypothesis
  • Phi2: searching window for the second hit (after the first hit the charge of the candidate seed is assigned )
  • r2 F: searching window for the second hit in the endcap
  • z2 B: searching window for the second hit in the barrel

Three sets of matching windows are used: Normal, Startup, and Large. The values of the window variables in each are:

Normal window

Variable Minimum Maximum
ePhi1 -0.025 0.015
pPhi1 -0.015 0.025
Phi2 -0.005 0.005
r2 F -0.08 0.08
z2 B -0.05 0.05

Startup window (SW)

Variable Minimum Maximum
ePhi1 -0.025 0.015
pPhi1 -0.015 0.025
Phi2 -0.001 0.001
r2 F -0.096 0.096
z2 B -0.06 0.06

Large window (LW)

Variable Minimum Maximum
ePhi1 -0.045 0.03
pPhi1 -0.03 0.045
Phi2 -0.001 0.001
r2 F -0.3 0.3
z2 B -0.2 0.2

L1 seeds

Jet and MET seeds

L1 bit Requirement
L1_SingleJetX 1 Jet with Et > X GeV
L1_DoubleJetX 2 Jets with Et > X GeV
L1_ETMX L1 Missing-ET with Et > X GeV
L1_ETTX L1 Scalar Sum ET with Et > X GeV

Muon seeds

All L1 muon triggers have L1 muon-quality requirements, unless explicitly specified.

The L1 muon-quality for:

  • Single muon triggers require quality codes: 4 or 5 or 6 or 7
  • Double muon triggers require: 3 or 5 or 6 or 7
  • Triple or quadruple muon triggers require: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7
  • Muons in cross-channel triggers require the same quality codes as in single, double, triple or quadruple muon triggers, except for muons in cross-channel triggers of the type "SingleMu_* AND (other than muons trigger objects)" which requires the same quality codes as in double muon triggers.

Where the quality codes mean:

  • 0 : Empty muon
  • 1 : Halo muon
  • 2 : Very Low Quality Type 1
  • 3 : Very Low Quality Type 2
  • 4 : Very Low Quality Type 3
  • 5 : RPC unconfirmed candidate
  • 6 : DT or CSC unconfirmed candidate
  • 7 : DT/RPC or CSC/RPC Matched candidate

For more information about muon quality please see L1 muon quality.

L1 bit Requirement
L1_SingleMuX 1 Muon with pT > X GeV/c
L1_DoubleMuX 2 Muons with pT > X GeV/c
L1_SingleMuOpen 1 Muon with quality 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7; no pT cut
L1_DoubleMuOpen 2 Muons, each with quality 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7; no pT cut

Electron/Photon seeds

L1 bit Requirement
L1_SingleEGX 1 EM object with Et > X GeV
L1_DoubleEGX 2 EM objects with Et > X GeV
L1_SingleIsoEGX 1 isolated EM object with Et > X GeV
L1_DoubleIsoEGX 2 isolated EM objects with Et > X GeV
