Run 2 BGRP proposal. 
(0) BCRVeto: allows triggers everywhere but in a ~20 BC wide region at the end of the fill pattern when the bunch counter reset is sent 
(1) Paired: Colliding bunches in ATLAS
(2) CalReq: calibration requests for Tilecal (laser/charge injection) in the abort gap (BCID 3445-3514) 
(3) Empty: empty BC without any beam activity 5 BC before and 5 BC after (for cosmics, noise)
(4) IsolatedUnpaired: unpaired bunches with no beam activity (in the other beam) in± 3 BC (for background monitoring, excluding leakage tails from the other beam) 
(5) NonIsolatedUnpaired: unpaired bunches not covered by (4)
(6) EmptyAfterPaired: empty 5 BC following a paired BC (for long-lived particle searches) 
(7) InTrain: veto first 3BCs in train 
(8) AbortGapNotCalReq: BCID 3515-3539
(9) VdM (user defined): for VdM scan & also to be used for Afterglow study

upper points 20 7/320 8/400
the first number is the simple DT. This is the # of vetoed triggers after an L1 accept.
the second numbers are corresponding to the complex dead time restricting the number of triggers in a given period, e.g. 7/320 means 1 token every 320 bunch crossing up to 7 tokens are in the bucket.

Finding logs related to HLT farms

  • See from the DAQ panel which node has the issue
  • Log into one of those machines and figure out the err message, for example yygao@pc-tdq-tpu-61038:/logs/tdaq-05-05-00/ATLAS/
  • Can have the messages also shown in the web page

Start the DAQ panel from the blue general TDAQ menu
1) setup script to use
2) Use datafile /atlas/oks/tdqg-05-04-00/combined/partitions/
3) use OHP output as -c /atlas/moncfg/tdag-05-04-00/trigger/ohp/atlas_trigger.ohp_Cosmics.xml
4) use TRP output as  -c /atlas/moncfg/tdaq-05-04-00/trigger/trp/trp_gui_conf.xml
Click on the ReadInfo, followed by GetPartition and use Trigger Presenter
  • The rates from the DCM (data control monotitoring) is higher than the TRP results. It is unclear why. The hypothesis is that TRP is not collecting all the events. This means that we are not losing events as the DCM is okay. Just some issue with the TRP tool.
  • Remote access to the P1 for trigger tool
