Trigger Efficiency Code

This page describe how to obtain trigger efficiency data files from any sample using a C++ code for ROOT.

Directory Description

You must download the code. There are two directory types for e15i and e25i signatures, respectively. For example the e15i directory contains :
  • principal_e15i_sin.cxx (without pileup)
  • principal_e15i_con.cxx (with pileup)
  • trigger_e15i.h

Data Files

You have to create two directories where the code will write the output. If you will run for the "e15i without pileup" case, you should open the file "principal_e15i_sin.cxx" and verify the name of the output. For example, you will find :
fileouth1_1.open("e15i_Zee_without/et/histo1.dat")
So you should create the following directories :
   * mkdir    e15i_Zee_without
   * mkdir   e15i_Zee_without/et    
   * mkdir   e15i_Zee_without/eta 
   * mkdir   e15i_Zee_without/phi
Each directory (et, eta and phi) will contain the output for every level, the output of the variables transverse energy, pseudorapidity and the angle phi, respectively.

Load ntuple

You have to be sure that there is a file that will load the ntuple. For example you can create the file "zeesinpileup.cxx" with these lines:

TChain nSignal("CollectionTree");
nSignal.AddFile("/space2/data/privateProduction/singleElectron/AANT/ntuple_from/ESD.L2bugfixErkcan.root");
TChain* sg_ch;
sg_ch = &nSignal;
}
where you should specify the path where the ntuple is.

Running the code

Open root and execute the following lines:
  • .x "file that load the ntuple"
  • .L principal_e15i_sin.cxx
  • main()

Output

After running the code, you will find in each directory created before this files:
  • histo1.dat : file that contains the L1 output
  • histo2.dat : file that contains the L2 Calo output
  • histo3.dat : file that contains the L2 Id output
  • histo4.dat : file that contains the EF output
  • hoffline4.dat: file that contains the offline output
  • Eficiencia.dat : file that contains the number of electrons that pass every level, together with each level global efficiency
Now you are ready to make your figures!!!!!!
