TOTEM HyperNews registration

HyperNews (HN) are a kind of threaded discussion board coupled to mailing lists, enhanced at SLAC and widely used in the BaBar experiment (previous link password protected). BaBar HN feature 473 forums, 1874 members, and more than 750,000 messages, and more recently also LHC experiments have adopted this convenient discussion medium.

To use the TOTEM HyperNews:

• register by logging in on any lxplus machine, and execute carefully the steps explained at the page: https://hypernews.cern.ch/HyperNews/TOTEM/add-member.pl

• once that is done, access the system from: https://hypernews.cern.ch/HyperNews/TOTEM/top.pl after typing your HN user name and password.

All the options, among others "Overview" and "Request a New Forum", are accessible from the menus in the top navigation bar.

Peter Elmer and Andreas Pfeiffer helped to set up the system for TOTEM, Anssi Vaelikangas customized the layout and graphics, and Fernando Lucas Rodriguez is the current administrator.
