WLCG Service Interventions Log - Weekly Viewer

A web-based tool for dynamically generating the interactive weekly view of scheduled and unscheduled WLCG (T0/T1) Service Interventions from the database. The database stores the service intervention details gleaned from announcements.

The primary source of information is EGEE Broadcast. Other sources include LCG3D (DB) Service Announcements,
CIC Operations Portal, CERN Daily/Weekly OPS Meetings, and IT Service Status Board.

Software Components

  1. Module for management of service interventions Database with web front-end

    It provides options to
    - Add service intervention records
    - Modify existing records
    - Delete unwanted records
    - View all service intervention records

    File(s):   DBFRONT.HTM

                   DBUPDATE.PHP => Performs back-end add, delete, or modify operations in the DB
                   DBDISPLAY.PHP => Fetches all records from DB for Display
     
  2. Module to dynamically extract and view the recorded service interventions on weekly basis

    It displays the current week's service interventions in tabular form with intervention types (Scheduled, Unscheduled &  Extended) indicated in different colors and grouped by site name. In addition it shows dynamic ScreenTips containing more specific details on intervention at the footer when the cursor is placed over the cell displaying affected service. Also week chain of service interventions can be viewed through previous and next links.

System/Software Requirements

Server:    Apache Webserver (ver. 2.2) or any webserver
                MySQL Database (ver. 5.0)
                PHP (ver. 5.2)

Client:     HTML Browser supporting DHTML and JavaScript
                (Compatible with IE, Mozilla, Opera Browsers)

Platforms:  Windows and Linux
